Questions:
1: Did Lizzie inspire you in any way? If so, how?
2: How does society play a role in some of the experiences Lizzie spoke about ?
Was there any story that Lizzie told that shocked you ? Why?
3: In you're experiences, do you tend to " let the negative things define you" or do you " let the positive things define you" ? Did this video make you want to change ?
4: Do you think Lizzie's story made an impact?
1) Lizzie inspired me because she made me think about how even though she had all these people saying terrible stuff to her about something that she can't control she was still able to turn it around and look at the bright side of it and grow stronger due to it, I think that her ability to be so determined to follow her dreams and become everything that she wanted is amazing.
ReplyDelete2) I think that society played a role by setting the standard of what beauty is, because of this standard they viewed Lizzie as "the world's ugliest woman" just because she looks different than everyone else.
3) I think that it's only human nature to have a tendency to let the more negative aspects of yourself define you. We have a habit of letting our insecurities get the best of us and try to live up to what we think people want us to be without taking the time to get to know ourselves first and what makes us unique and different. I think that anyone would want to change after seeing what Lizzie was capable of overcoming, if she can make the impossible possible then why can't we?
4) I think that Lizzie's story made a very large impact on people because of how headstrong she was about who she is and what she wants to accomplish with her life. She spoke about how all of these different people who don't even know her judged her based on her appearance and that is something that happens way too often within our society, I like that she called attention to it as an issue and explained how it made her want to strive to accomplish more.
5) I think that I have a habit of defining myself with my past and not being able to get forward with myself. I feel like after watching Lizzie's video I have a lot more to think about and can try to look on more positives than negatives when it comes to who I see myself as.
